GET DEBATING!

A veritable tussle of the minds is what’s in store at the live debate sessions throughout Salon Smart. Our hand-chosen panellists will bring their industry experience and business acumen to crucial topics including ‘Taking Control of Business’ covering key concerns and savvy strategies to implement and ‘Only The Young’ exploring the pleasures and pitfalls when it comes to the incoming hairdressing generation.

The first panel debate kicks off on Sunday at 16.50, where Creative HEAD Publisher Catherine Handcock will be joined on stage by Hari Efthymiades, owner of Cut & Grind, winner of Most Wanted 2017 Best Salon Team, Joanna Hansford, Managing Director of Jo Hansford, Laura Knight, Director of brand communications consultancy KWS, Salon Success’ Simon Tickler and Jane Williams, Director at Reed Hair. They’ll be discussing the everyday dilemmas facing businesses including recruiting a stellar team, maintaining motivation and productivity and how to market your business to drive new clientele whilst keeping your existing customers loyal. Alongside sharing their expertise on successful internal systems to keep your business running like clockwork, they’ll also impart wisdom on strategies for sure-fire success.

Monday will then make way for an engaging discussion on ‘Only The Young’ at 14.15. What captures the attention of the next generation? How can salons recruit apprentices with all the red tape? What can salon owners implement to encourage loyalty and longevity among their young team? These are just a few of the questions we’ll be putting to our top-notch panel including Chief Executive of the NHF, Hilary Hall, Dale Hollinshead, Founder of salon Hazel & Hadyn, Skyler McDonald, the brains behind seanhanna and her own venture Skyler London as well as Ken West, Director of 3•6•5 Education, who is a monthly columnist for Creative HEAD with Ken’s Clinic!
