Former salon owner turned freelance/mobile hairdresser, Sheila Abrahams is the founder and ‘voice’ of the Freelance Hairdressers Association (FHA) – an organisation she set up having become increasingly frustrated about the negative attitude shown towards independent and self-employed hairdressers.
Operational since 1993, Sheila has been working hard to set better standards and put support systems in place for the freelance sector of the industry, and is proud of the community she has built, where members no longer feel on their own simply because they work alone. Providing a space to share skills and experiences and a place to pick up new education and bespoke business training, the FHA is a brilliant network and resource for freelancers everywhere – Sheila’s making sure of it!
