MEET OUR MAINSTAGERS! #SalonSmart19

Forget Glastonbury, when it comes to the mainstage, Salon Smart is where you want to be! Over two packed-out days, we have a programme of spectacular speakers delivering their expert advice, tales of failure (we all know it’s not always plain sailing) and stories of success – expect honest and frank discussions that give you guidance that you can actually implement in salon to benefit your own business.

Taking to the 2019 stage will not only be industry stalwarts, some of which have evolved through decades in hairdressing such as Bruce Masefield, Dylan Bradshaw and team Trevor Sorbie (Bree Davie, Tom Connell and Bex Ohta) but also a plethora of exciting new names standing up and standing out, including Linton & Mac’s Sarah Black and owner of Re-Invention House Jak Bakewell alongside co-style director Scott McKay.

As Sunday tackles the topic of time – the commodity we all wish we had more of and could utilise better – former Salon Smart speaker Richard Phillipart returns as his salon, The Boutique Atelier, celebrates its 12th birthday. Six years on from his debut appearance, he’ll talk change and championing craft. A theme also close to the hearts of DNA Artspace duo Angelo Vallillo and Dale Herne who bring the Monday motivation and shine a spotlight on reinvigorating the salon set-up, trust us you’ll want to be tuned in!

And what is Salon Smart without a debate or two? Taking up the time mantle is one power panel including the likes of Sara Holmes, Ken West, Darren Fowler and Sophia Hilton, whilst our final fanfare will see names including Mark Maciver aka SliderCuts and CreationsCarolyn Sweeney, deliberating over the apprenticeship crisis and encouraging new talent into the hairdressing fold.

Be prepared for some brilliant business bites as Simon Tickler, managing director of Salon Success and Monica Teodoro, general manager of L’Oreal Professionnel UK and Ireland, take up the lectern. We’ll also debut the brand-new session, Salon Smart Soapbox, an opportunity to air strong opinions on key aspects of industry life. Our first host? Brand artist and the former head of education at ghd Jo Robertson .

If that wasn’t enough, two names that need no introduction will be giving Salon Smart attendees an exclusive insight…Luke Hersheson and Nicola Clarke. Get ready for some herspiration as Luke lets us get up close and personal with a live creative and intimate interview. AND buckle up to career the chronicles of one Ms Clarke; moments, milestones and launching her own salon business…

The Salon Smart 2019 mainstage has a seriously unmissable line-up, so secure your spot to get invaluable tips on boosting your business along with a healthy dose of inspiration…
