The UK’s Caroline Brand won bronze in the Creative Category at Goldwell’s Color Zoom 2017 final, while Lydia Wolfe took home the Stylists Favourite Award in the New Talent category.
This year’s competition, which took place at Global Zoom in Barcelona, saw 97 finalists from 38 countries competing in front of nearly 3,000 hairdressers. The gold medals were taken home by Maxim Sotnikov from Russia in the New Talent category, Dylan Tung from Singapore in the Creative category and Mio Sota from the USA in the Partner category.
The CCIB Auditorium was the location for the stunning gala, which opened with the traditional Parade of Nations as finalists showed off their hard work. Flying the flag for the UK was Lydia Wolfe of Tony Wood Hairdressing in the New Talent category, Caroline Brand of Oracle Hair & Beauty in the Creative Category and Nicholas Holmes of Hobson & Holmes in the Partner Category.
The gala also saw the world premiere of the 2018 Color Zoom Collection, Elemental, which was created by last year’s winners. The stunning looks fused technology with creativity, for a spectrum of crystalised tones and raw yet minimalist styling.
And the excitement has already kicked off for next year’s Goldwell Global Zoom, as Toronto was revealed as the 2018 host city of the competition.
