Look & Learn

This technique is great for showing texture and movement through longer front lengths whilst providing strength to a sharp outline and undercut. Building from darker levels through the back and graduating through to lighter levels, this can be adapted to longer or shorter shapes.

As with all techniques colour choice can define your look. I have decided to start with deep damsons, bringing burnt red into the mix through the side sections into copper gold in the fringe.

Top tip

For a natural look, work in the same tonal family and work up a level each section.

For example, start 4.3 into 5.3, then 6.3 and 7.3 and use pre lightener in the fringe. All colours shown here include L’Oréal Professionnel Smartbond.

Step 1:

Section the hair into the desired pattern

Apply Majirel 4.16 20vol Carmaline by L’Oréal Professionnel though the undercut section and isolate with foil

Step 3:

Step 5:

Divide the front triangle into four one-inch sections on the diagonal across the head

Step 6:

Take the first section and weave into two; clip up the top weave
