It’s that time of year again to be getting your entries in for this amazing competition, I really cannot wait to see the finalists and of course I am already planning my outfit for the hair competition of the year!

They are really modern looking. A great colour, comfortable and they keep your legs fit, what more could a man want?!

For as long as I can remember I have been a massive fan of JPG and I love the Coca-Cola collaborations, and this one is genius. I have been lucky enough to get my hands on a lot of previous collaboration bottles and really can’t wait to get these to add to my collection.

I have been spending a lot of time compiling my trendboards for AW12 recently and I have chosen this look as one of my season’s favourites.
I love the clever mix of clementine and mustard on the eyes and the beautiful undone ponytail, a perfect combination for A/W12.

Last Wednesday night I headed to the beautiful Rebecca Hossack Gallery in Fitzrovia for a Conversation With Guido, led by the wonderful Anna-Marie Solowij. We were taken on a whistle stop tour of the amazing career of this genius. Without a doubt a great evening was had by all and if you are not yet a member of the wonderful club The Coterie, what are you playing at?

If you are heading down to Broadway Market in Hackney any time soon make sure that you head to The Dog and Wardrobe, it’s just on the corner by the canal. It has some really great furniture and if you take a look at the website it has all sorts of design things going on.

I am always on the look out for really good, affordable outfits and I have been a massive fan of ASOS for years, so now I am becoming a very big fan of ASOS BLACK, which has a more detailed design mixed with great cuts and fabrics.

I love collaborations, and this one between Uniqlo and Jun Takahashi is no exception. You will remember I mentioned his scent partnership with Comme des Garçons, well now he has gone one step further and worked with Uniqlo on this unique range of really wearable garments. I reckon I’ll be getting a bit of everything!

Damir Doma – www.damirdoma.com/site/m_aw12/m_aw12-images.html – is without a doubt one of the designers to watch. There is nothing at all that I don’t love about Damir Doma’s Collections; they’re so, so beautiful. I’ve just ordered a pair of trousers from his collection and cannot wait to get them.
I was scanning through my Aubin and Wills almanac last week: www.aubinandwills.com/en-gb/editorial/summer-2012/riz-boardshorts/ a great magazine that highlights the seasons collection, as well as letting you know about all things A&W – and I came across a feature on this chap. Riz Smith designs Eco Board shorts, I found this really interesting and his brand even more so: https://www.rizboardshorts.com, so I went onto his website and am in the process of choosing a pair of his beautiful shorts for the summer.
This collection has not launched yet – take a look at the teaser and see if you can work out what the collection will look like: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOMKZCGjkX0&feature=player_embedded.
I can’t wait to see these sunglasses when they’re unveiled. I love the Burberry sunglasses that I got last year and am sure I’ll be buying another pair this year!

I came across this brilliant design duo: www.palmerharding.4ormat.com a couple of weeks and have totally fallen in love with there beautiful designs. Their concept focusses on bringing conceptual design to a wardrobe staple: the shirt. Encompassing their combined aesthetic, skill and international experience they have created some of the most stunning shirts I have ever seen.

I had been looking for a great new handcream as my hands have taken a battering recently, and I have just found this little beauty. It really moisturises my hands without leaving the skin feeling heavy or greasy.

I adore this collection of contemporary sportswear, designed by the genius that is Christopher Shannon, in collaboration with ASOS.

Shoes are my third biggest passion, after hair and perfume. And this collaboration between Tods and Jefferson Hack is amazing. The blend between the craftsmanship of the Italian heritage brand and the vision of this iconic editor has seen the production of a truly beautiful collection of shoes for both men and women. Free from the codes of formal dress or casual attire, they cross easily from day to night. Perfection.

I have to add this as I think the collection is truly amazing. This is a little video directed by Sofia Coppola that was used for the launch. I love Marni for its contemporary classics and am so happy to see it available through H&M on the high street. The designs and the prints are beautiful and I cannot wait for the summer to wear my purchases!

I have just started reading this book and am already finding it hard to put down. You have to get it before everybody else does!

I rarely go on and on about scent as much as I am going to go on and on about this little beauty. I do enjoy the original version of this Prada classic, but this has really has blown me away. It is so rich in its scent. The original name was inspired by the method of extracting the iris fragrance, which takes six months to complete. Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue is a mix of exotic Tunisian neroli, orange blossom, Italian iris, mastic, benzoin from Laos, tonka bean from Venezuela, Madagascan vanilla and white musk. This really is beautiful and the gold bottle is stunning.

Shorts, sunglasses, socks and shoes, I absolutely love this collection! The pints are so beautiful. I’d like one piece of each please. Visit www.jameslonguk.com

Anybody that knows me knows that I love a moodboard and I love this amazing new online programme called Pinterest. You essentially pin up images that you have seen across the net to your moodboard. I have been using it for a little while and this is my page http://pinterest.com/adamreedhair/ It’s so simple to use and is great for sharing your inspiration. Take a look and get pinning!

I was in Space NK last week having a good nose around and I noticed that the store is stocking iconic make-up artist Kevyn Aucoin’s range, which looks absolutely amazing. This led me to remember The Art of Makeup, one of my favourite books by Kevyn, published before he died. It is a great book to use when looking for inspiration and he really was an inspiration.

I Love Ricardo Tisci, I Love Givenchy and I love this collection. The prints are truly beautiful, as is the tailoring and the shoes – I will definitely be bagging one of the amazing caps!

I have long been in love with the beauty that is Stella Tennant and I wanted to share some amazing images of her. I first became aware of Stella when she did her first ever shoot with Isabella Blow for British Vogue. I have been lucky enough to work with her on a couple of occasions and I’m always blown away by her beauty.

Take a look at www.rifftheraff.com, one of the best blogs I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I am sure you will find it amazing, too!

On Saturday I went with my team to Goldsmiths’ Hall for the House of Holland show. Ride It was an explosion of colour and beautiful detail. Taking my inspiration from Barbara in The Good Life, I worked a mist of Percy & Reed Texturising Spray through dry hair and used the BaByliss Pro Volare hairdryer to work the base texture into the hair. Then, using the medium BaByliss Pro Wand we worked ‘The Kick’ texture into the hair. Using Percy & Reed Session Hold Hairspray, we misted through each large section to protect and maximise shine. Hair was then swept in to a deep side sweep, drawn into the nape and secured. Hairspray was then sprayed onto fingers and worked through the surface of the hair to add a denser texture.

Last Friday I headed over to Somerset House with my trusty Fashion Week team and members of the Sebastian Cult team to style the hair for the Felder Felder A/W12 show. Entitled Blonde, there was an obvious hair reference, which is always nice! After seeing the collection at the hair test I wanted to create a texture that looked expensive yet worn in, think mid-90s Kate Moss – feminine and strong. So let me introduce ‘The Kick’. At Felder Felder, I prepped the hair with Sebastian Trilliant on dry hair and worked this into the hair with a BaByliss Pro Volare dryer. Hair was then put into large random sections and sprayed with Sebastian Zero Gravity to protect and give shine. Shine is essential to keep this look modern. I then wrapped the hair around a large BaByliss Pro Wand and worked the hair backwards and forwards. This was not about a curl or a wave; it is totally about the kick. The hair was then swept into a deep side-parting with the kick worked through the ends of the fringe direct in to the sweep. I warmed a small amount of matte putty into my hands and lifted this in to the hair to add a broken down end. We were all very, very happy!

I headed off to the Savoy last week for the 2012 Elle Style Awards, and what a great night it was! There were some of the best outfits I have seen in a long time, and some beautiful table decorations, take a look!

I have just been reunited with one of the best tools – The Mason Pearson Popular. It was the first brush that I ever bought for my kit and until recently I had been cheating on it with another brush. Now we are back together and I have been using it for all types of dressing. I am so happy to have it back!

I used this on a shoot last week to get soft ’80s volume through short hair. It gives a light hold and fantastic shine that doesn’t leave the hair stiff and crispy.

While shooting a trends piece last week for Elle TV, I was looking for a great product to work the all-important wet-look trend. I have mentioned this product before as I have used it on a House of Holland underwear shot, but I think that it’s the perfect time to mention it again as it’s one of the key looks of the summer season. It’s a dry oil that contains gold particles that shimmer when used in the hair. Perfect for the beach or a night out, it smells delicious!

My new best friend! I am not really sure how I have lived without this product. I have been using it as a primer to add a great base to other styling products, once you use this you will understand why I love it so much!

I wait in anticipation for the new edition of Runway and I am never disappointed. Packed with everything that you need for the up-coming season, Runway really does become my seasonal style bible. I especially love the James Pecis interview in this edition.

What an absolutely amazing evening, without a doubt my favourite so far. Anna-Marie Solowij interviewed god of colour Josh Wood. I had a chat with Grazia’s beauty editor Lauren Murdoch-Smith, and then goddess of style Zoë Irwin chatted to us about trends, it really was a great evening. If you are not part of this members-only club, what are you waiting for?

As Berlin is one of my most-loved cities, I wanted to share a few recommendations…

1) Soho House Berlin
We stayed at Soho House Berlin and sat with the beautiful Olivia Palermo for lunch! This is my favourite of the Soho House group – It has a really young feel and completely comfortable atmosphere.

2) Quartier 206
This has an old-school department store feel and stocks some of the finest beauty products in the world.

3) The Corner
This is a great store that I always head to when I am staying in Berlin. It has a good edit of pieces and a vast book section – and, as previously mentioned, the place where I found my new favourite perfume!

4) Borchardt
This restaurant serves the best Weiner Schnitznel you will ever taste!

I was shooting for Red Magazine at the beginning of the week and spied these absolute beauties hidden under the clothes rail!

I was at Berlin Fashion Week recently and I came across this fragrance in a fantastic store called The Corner. A collaboration between Comme des Garçons and Jun Takahashi, the perfume is based on Jun’s handmade stuffed toy and is made up of purple ginger, mandarin, rhubarb and pepper. It is going to be my summer fragrance.

Christian Dior
I’ve always admired John Galliano’s work, but this collection with Bill Gaytten at the helm really embodies everything I feel Christian Dior should be.

Versace
After a hiatus from couture since 2004, Versace Atelier returned with a most beautiful collection. After seeing Angelina Jolie in Versace at the Golden Globes last week I could not wait to see this – and I was totally blown away.

Givenchy
The most beautiful clothes in the world! Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci is always an eye-opener and this was no exception – detailed and exquisite!
Posted in Style notes, Uncategorized

Left: 3.1 Phillip Lim
The prints, graphic shapes and shoes of this collection are great! I also really like the bags this season.
Right: Lanvin
Beautiful. I am a sucker for Lanvin and was not disappointed by this collection. I love the muted palette and the ruffled hair – if I had an unlimited budget I would buy it all.
A great range made up of defined casual pieces – one of my favourite everyday brands.
Right: Maison Martin Margiela
I adore the structure, fluidity and biscuity tones.

Dries Van Noten
One of my all-time favourite designers and one of its best shows! I really do want one of everything from this collection and I love the shoes!
Posted in Style notes, Uncategorized

Alexander McQueen
Love it! An absolutely beautiful collection, I pretty much want every piece from this collection.

Mugler
I am really impressed with how Mugler has been turned around, the show was exceptional and the shoes are sensational!

Marc Jacobs
I really like the utilitarian feel of this with an added sense of humour. I look forward to seeing this in the stores.

Jonathan Saunders
One of my all time favourites. I love the colours, the prints, the cuts. In fact I love every single thing about it!

Alexander Wang
This is really up my street and if I had to choose one designer this season, it would have to be Alexander Wang.

Left: Dolce & Gabbana
From the soft wave in the hair and the exquisite detail in the brocades and velvets to the cropped trouser that’s an emerging autumn trend, I liked almost everything about this show.
Right: Prada
Actors Jamie Bell, Gary Oldman, Adrien Brody, Tim Roth, Willem Dafoe and Emile Hirsch all graced the Prada red carpet, showcasing a collection strong on tailoring and detail. Fluffy lapels with circular glasses and flowers perched in pockets and pin brooches in the shape of sheriff badges and guns sat beneath.

Left: Jil Sander
Raf Simons, creative director at Jil Sander, designed a slick collection of luxe leathers and beautifully structured pieces.
Right: Marni
Two of the keys trends emerging from the A/W12 shows are the cropped trouser and the foxtail accessory. Marni showcased both of these beautifully, as well as one of the best colour palettes that I have seen so far – think red, beige and blue.

Left: Pringle of Scotland
One of my favourite shows, Pringle of Scotland featured a striking range of colour consisting of camel, oxblood, soft tangerine and blue.
Right: Burberry Prorsum
I love the softness and unstructured tailoring of Burberry Prorsum: the luxury fabrics, complex detailing and the nicest caps!

Andrea Pompilio
The foxtail featured heavily in this collection of quirky prints and colours and I’d happily wear every piece of this collection.

Golden Globes Ladies 2012
I relish the awards season and wait in anticipation to see what everybody is wearing and, of course, how they style their hair. Here are my top five looks from the Golden Globes.

Angelina Jolie – Atelier Versace
Beautiful! One thing that I noticed at the Golden Globes was that hair was softer and less structured – this was left to the clothes and make-up. Angelina wore the most beautiful dress, along with red lipstick and her hair pulled back in to a simple elegant style. Top marks!

Kate Winslet – Jenny Packham
I love Kate Winslet, this is a classic outfit with a gently textured side-sweep that sits perfectly within the overall look.

Natalie Portman – Lanvin
This dress is ridiculously good: everything about it is signature Lanvin. There is a classic touch to the hair but the uneven surface texture maintains a modern femininity.

Madonna – Reem Acra
My list would not be complete without a mention of Madonna – she knows how to get it right. I adore this Reem Acra dress and the soft disheveled waves in her hair.

Julianne Moore – Chanel Haute Couture
Julianne Moore is a goddess. She looks absolutely stunning in and has kept this totally simple, only adding a flash of colour with her earrings. The best look of the night!
Golden Globes Chaps 2012
Just thought that I would add these three handsome chaps for a bit of eye candy.

Michael Fassbender – Emporio Armani

Channing Tatum – Prada

Matthew Morrison – Dolce & Gabbana

A new year means the new advertising campaigns are in full force across the glossies and my first favourite of the season is Tom Ford. This man is a God as far as I am concerned and these images are fantastic. Tim shot these images himself with his new chosen one, model Mirte Maas and Mathias Bergh. Both appear stunning in his new collection-and look at those shoes!

I am currently having a bit of a retro moment with regards to my choice of scent. I have been slightly obsessing over an old favourite of mine, YSL Rive Gauche. A subtle mix of bergamot, geranium leaf, vetiver and clove, it is a great scent for this time of year.
